Edens by acclaimed nature photographer and writer William Burt. Burt’s photos
offer a glimpse into a secluded world filled with elusive creatures, rare flora,
and wild fauna. This striking forty-piece exhibit is filled with surprises and
beauty, just like the marsh itself. These photos reveal tiny sedge wrens
singing with unrelenting vigor, short-eared owls all but vanishing in the fog,
saucepan-sized lotus leaves floating in still pools, tufts of cord grass waving
in the wind and a kaleidoscope of lilies creating patterns in the water.

of the Meiji period in 1868 and extending through the 1980s are represented in
Modern Japanese Prints: 1868-1989. The exhibition of more than 230 master prints
from the collection of Carnegie Museum of Art and four Pittsburgh collectors
examines the decline of the ukiyo-e tradition in the late 19th century and the
subsequent rise of shin-hanga (“new prints”) and sōsaku-hanga (“creative
prints”) as competing movements in the 20th century.
